WHO is 'wrong about a lot of things' and 'China-centric', says Donald Trump US President Donald Trump warned he would “put a hold” on funding for the World Health Organisation (WHO) as part of an outspoken attack on the international body, before appearing to backtrack.

Mr Trump made the comments at a White House press briefing as deaths and infections continue to rise across the US.

He heavily criticised the WHO, saying they “they missed the call” on the coronavirus pandemic and claiming they were “very biased" toward China.

"The WHO… criticised and disagreed with my travel ban at the time I did it. And they were wrong. They've been wrong about a lot of things,” he said.

“They seem to be very China-centric. And we have to look into that. So we're going to look into it. We pay for give a majority of the money that they get."
