Building a wall of defense around our seniors and most vulnerable | Jason Kenney

Building a wall of defense around our seniors and most vulnerable | Jason Kenney It is of the utmost importance that we build a wall of defence around our seniors and most vulnerable as we see our way through the relaunch of our economy, and the easing of public health restrictions.

The average age of people who succumb to COVID-19 is a year higher (83) than the average life expectancy in Alberta (82), showing just how critically important it is for us to protect this fragile and vulnerable population.

We are also increasing funding to our continuing care facilities, to the tune of $170 million, to increase staffing levels, support more frequent cleaning, and ensure they can continue operating.

This effort, combined with strict health protocols around these facilities, will help protect our elderly and vulnerable Albertans.
