Happy Tip Tuesday! Are the windows that you are installing best suited for the zone you live in? Hey everyone it's Pierre with Overview we are doing a brand new build here in Fort Saskatchewan and I want to talk to you guys about windows and the importance of getting what you pay for. Now in our climate, we are required to have zone 2 windows installed because of the energy efficiency. So, here we are if you look at that it says zone 1 now these windows are actually only designed to be installed in the Lower Mainland well obviously it does not meet energy efficiency with our climate. And here's the other basement window why does the window fall out when we're doing the inspection? When we look at this again this window is for the Lower Mainland why wouldn't a sliding window stay in a track when you try to open it? Well, the way you identify if windows have been professionally installed is there's going to have weep holes at the bottom of the window ok well yeah that's right the weep holes are installed up top here. You are buying a brand new house spending your life savings and the windows are installed number one upside-down, number two they're not rated for our climate, and lastly do you need an inspection on a brand new build well you know the answer. If you want a home inspector that goes above beyond to look after your best interest, Pierre, with Overview we'll see you soon guys.
