MY DOG HAS SEPARATION ANXIETY. HOW DO I FIX IT? TEAM FLOPPY EARS EXPLAINS IN BRIEF DETAIL

MY DOG HAS SEPARATION ANXIETY. HOW DO I FIX IT? TEAM FLOPPY EARS EXPLAINS IN BRIEF DETAIL Well the hard truth is that you've likely helped your dog get to the point of which he or she is.

Sometimes we teach our dogs to do things without really even knowing it & usually doesn't come from bad place.

I was just speaking to a fellow trainer last night about how people have literal conversations with their dogs, when we know damn sure that dogs don't speak our language as human beings.

As much as the human thinks it's helping the dog, it's just really not doing the dog any favors at all.

Your dog will never know what to do unless it actually get's taught to do it in the language that THEY speak.

So back to the Anxiety....when you give your dog TONS of un-earned affection & NEVER let fido have time of his own without you....you're likely playing into a potential future #anxiety symptom.

It's important to help your dog learn to be a little more independent, just the same way it is important to help your human child do the same.

It's REALLY hard to do this because of the amount of love we have for our kids, but sometimes the good thing, the smart thing, the BETTER thing to do...is the hard thing.

We're talking about IMPROVING a mindset...so based on how long the dog has been anxiety ridden...it may take equally as long or even longer to even start to help IMPROVE the issue.

FIXING anxiety is an extremely heavy word when you're talking about an issue that really has the tendency to run VERY deep in both human & dog.

Which is why it's SO important to start the process of creating an independent dog as early as possible with plenty of rules, boundaries, structure, routine, etc...

When you're home and doing the dishes....don't be afraid to go put Fido in the crate instead of letting him be at your feet.

When Fido comes and begs for your attention for the 85th time of the day...don't be afraid to say no...go to your "place" and chill.

Little things like this can have the tendency to make a BIG difference in the endgame!

Hope that helps!

Remember guys...you're only one move away from changing your mindset. Change the way you think=Change the way you LIVE!
