UK weather: Brits bask in summer heatwave as mercury set to hit 29C

Britons have flocked to parks and beaches today as days of wind and rain make way for a scorching summer heatwave.

Joggers headed out for early-morning exercise on Tuesday, with the mercury set to creep close to 30C throughout the day.

The UK is set for soaring temperatures this week, reaching as high as 34C, according to Met Office forecasters.

Brits have already begun making the most of the sunshine, heading to riverbanks and lidos to cool off from the heat.
