The term “passion” is used to describe something that overtakes and consumes us causing us to act in ways that hurt ourselves and others when we’re in its grip. It’s an unconscious emotional reaction we develop as children in an effort to get our needs met. When it comes to the Enneagram, your passion is actually the source of your suffering. It silently supports and perpetuates the shadow side of your personality.
