I Bought a Cherokee 6 for Less Than $30K and It Changed My Life | An Airplane Renovation Story

I Bought a Cherokee 6 for Less Than $30K and It Changed My Life | An Airplane Renovation Story I bought a Piper Cherokee 6 (PA32-300) for less than $30,000 and then my A&P/IA Piper Guru friend completely renovated it. This is the story of N631BW and its total renovation and resurrection from Engine Overhaul to Avionics to Paint and Interior.

We go from ancient avionics to an Avidyne IFD 540, PS Engineering PMA450a, Avidyne AXP322, Skytrax 100 ADSB IN, Dynon HDX for Certified, and Trutrak Autopilot. New Airtex leather seat interior, carpets, side panels.

**So many people have asked about the cost of the upgrades: It’s hard to specify the total cost since the project was done over such a long period of time and in phases, and considering my buddy was doing a lot of the work at friendly rate. It’s safe to say it was likely around an additional 100k. I may end up making a follow up video about the numbers since there seems to be quite a bit of interest in it. Stay tuned!
