Colored Shadows: My Favorite Exhibit - Exploratorium Teacher Institute

Colored Shadows: My Favorite Exhibit - Exploratorium Teacher Institute "Colored Shadows" is an exhibit located at the Exploratorium, a museum of science, art, and human perception in San Francisco California.

This exhibit not only shows how colored light interacts by expressing the results on a large wall, but also allows the visitor to manipulate colored light and see the resulting colored shadows.

My name is Denise Torrisi and I teach Life and Physical Science at Centerville Jr. High in Fremont, CA. This is one of my favorite exhibits because it allows people of all ages to question and learn by seeing the colored shadows their own bodies make on a wall. This "Colored Shadows" exhibit also has a "Colored Shadows Investigator" which explains what is happening while visitors turn the lights of red, green, and blue to an on or off position.

Created at the Exploratorium Teacher Institute 2012:
Summer workshop: "Teacher Institute 2.0"
Sponsored by The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations
Lead: Eric Muller and Paul Doherty
