Enterprise grade software explained

I'm a "script themselves out of a job" than a job security via {meetings,kubernetes} kindof guy.


Getting automation going in an Enterprise is quite the challenge, because no one is incentivized to do so.


Is there any way to incentivize vendors and the Enterprise itself to suck less? I need some ideas!
