Guitar Technique Tips #2 - Legato

Guitar Technique Tips #2 - Legato This is video 2 in the Guitar Techniques series. In this video, we look at legato. In music performance and notation, legato (Italian for "tied together"; French lié; German gebunden) indicates that musical notes are played or sung smoothly and connected. That is, the player makes a transition from note to note with no intervening silence. In guitar terms, this technique uses a collection of hammer-ons and pull-offs to create fast-flowing runs. The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.
