#ISOCALM - Daily Tip #26: Allow Yourself to be Bored *Anxious in Isolation? Here is another daily tip that will keep you feeling calm AND improve your health and well being*
.
As a society, we are addicted to being BUSY.
.
We love it so much that we struggle to not be busy even when we are in isolation.
.
All too often, we complain about how busy we are. We long for a day where we can do what we want and have time and energy for ourselves.
.
All of a sudden we are handed this on a platter...Maybe not in the exact way we imagined, but on a platter none the less.
.
How we choose to deal with this is important! For many of us, slowing down is HARD. We are used to being busy, moving a million miles and hour, doing something all the time.
.
Right now is an opportunity to get comfortable with a slower pace. We can let boredom sink in and wait to see what happens...or we can get so uncomfortable and distract with things that we miss it.
.
Allowing ourselves to be bored is the gateway to finding ourselves. When we let ourselves be quiet, we open up space for thoughts to pop into the mind that there is never space for...questions to arise that require new answers...and creativity to flow that is all too often suppressed.
.
Allowing yourself to be bored is much more than boredom. It is the slowing down enough to let things surface that would otherwise have no space.
.
My daily tip today is to Let Boredom in! know that you do not have to fill every gap, every minute or every hour with doing. We can learn to become comfortable with a new pace....what we might discover, is something worth waiting for.
